La Bibliothèque et l’AECSP invitent les étudiants des cycles supérieurs à une séance de rédaction intensive communautaire ayant pour but d’expérimenter concrètement une méthode efficace de rédaction et de briser l’isolement des étudiants aux cycles supérieurs. La séance débutera par une courte présentation théorique, en anglais, sur la technique pomodoro et les objectifs SMART, pour ensuite enchaîner avec 3 x 50 minutes de rédaction, selon un format développé par l’organisme Thèsez-vous?. Le local vous sera ensuite réservé si vous voulez apporter votre lunch et discuter avec les autres participants ou une bibliothécaire.

Apportez vos ordinateurs portables (ou passez au Service du prêt de la Bibliothèque pour en emprunter un) et du travail que vous voulez avancer, que ce soit votre mémoire ou thèse, un article ou un travail à remettre.

Horaire :

8h45-9h00 : Arrivée et installation

9h00-9h20 : Courte introduction à la technique pomodoro et aux objectifs SMART

9h20-9h30 : Pause et préparation (brancher les ordinateurs, organisation des espaces…)

9h30-12h30 : 3 x 50 minutes de rédaction, entrecoupées de 10 min de pause (collations fournies, apportez votre breuvage)

12h30-13h15 : Salle réservée pour luncher (apportez un lunch froid)

À noter : Vous pouvez arriver seulement pour la rédaction (vers 9h20). Aucune admission dans la salle une fois la rédaction débutée.

Intensive Communal Writing

The Library and the AECSP invite graduate students to an intensive communal writing session to practice an effective writing method and to break the sense of isolation experienced by graduate students. The session will start with a short presentation on the pomodoro technique and the SMART objectives, followed by 3 x 50 minutes of writing, according to a format developed by Thèsez-vous?. Afterwards, the room will be reserved for you to have lunch if you want to and discuss with other participants or with a librarian.

Bring your own computer (or you can borrow one from the Circulation Desk) and a document you would like to work on. It can be your dissertation or thesis, an article, or an academic assignment – the choice is yours!

Schedule:

8:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.: Welcome and installation

9:00 a.m. – 9:20 a.m.: Short introduction to the pomodoro technique and SMART objectives

9:20 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.: Break and preparation (set up the computers, organize the space…)

9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: 3 x 50 min. periods of writing, separated by 10-min. breaks (snacks provided, bring your own beverage)

12:20 p.m. – 1:15 p.m.: Room reserved for lunch – bring a cold lunch if you want to

Please note: You can also arrive at the beginning of the writing period (around 9:20 a.m.), but no one will be permitted to enter the room once the writing has started.
