Are you a graduate student or postdoc? Do you want to gain the tools and knowledge you need to successfully apply for funding for your research projects?

The Research Grants Workshop, organized by the Library and the Graduate Studies, is for you!  Learn about the different stages of the research grant application process and the resources you need to complete them efficiently. Tips and best practices for identifying appropriate funding opportunities and putting together an application will be shared.

Topics include researching grants, writing proposals, managing time to prepare applications, and working with research departments.

A complimentary lunch will be provided for participants.

Goals:

  • Inform graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of various funding opportunities available through federal and state funding agencies and the Mitacs programs.
  • Explain the selection criteria and requirements of different research grants.
  • Guide participants in preparing and submitting their grant applications.
  • Provide practical advice to maximize success in obtaining research grants.
  • Encourage active participation in seeking funding and in planning your academic and professional careers.
